Future Network Korea 2017 – 28 Nov 2017

Korean R&E network community, about 250 people, placed together in “Future Network Korea 2017” seminar on 28 November 2017, which was organized by the Ministry of Science and ICT(MSIT) and National Information Society Agency(NIA). The seminar provided various programs and ceremonies; ‘Korea Giga Internet Achievement’, ‘K-ICT Net-Challenge Camp’and 'KOREN AI Network Lap Opening Ceremony'. 



‘Korea Giga Internet Achievement’
Korean Giga Internet Project launched in 2009 and it was successfully commercialized in 2014 which contributed to economic and social development through continuous Network upgrading.


‘K-ICT Net-Challenge Camp’
"Students are our future" This message was shared in 'Future Network Korea Seminar'. Last April 2017, NIA opened annual competition "K-ICT Net Challenge camp” targeting college students and start-up companies. This competition participants submitted idea proposals for new ICT technologies and services(SDN, SDI, NFV, IOT, Big data, Cloud and public safety communication, etc.) using KOREN. Through the idea competition camp over the 6 months, total 11 teams from college students league and 3 teams from start-up companies league were selected as outstanding ideas and got award. TEIN*CC participated this award ceremony and encouraged students and academia for further development of these innovative ideas for societal benefit.



‘KOREN AI Network Lab Opening Ceremony’
KOREN AI Network Lab opening ceremony inaugurated after the seminar. The KOREN NOC and training center are placed in the AI Network Lab and it will be the core place for KOREN operation and management providing technical support and training programs for ICT engineers and network users.
