Who we are

TEIN*CC is a not-for-profit organization based in Seoul, Republic of Korea. We manage and operate the
regional Research and Education network, TEIN, and its related activities under the Asi@Connect project.

Where we start

ASEM8, TEIN4 in 2012

In October 2010, at the ASEM8 Summit that was held in Brussels, Belgium, Korea was granted the operation right to manage the 4th
phase of the TEIN project. TEIN*CC established on August 2011, and had the official opening ceremony on May 2012 with the 1st TEIN*CC
Governors’ meeting in Seoul with 18 Asia partners, European Commissions and Korean Government.

What we work for

Asi@Connect, TEIN

We work for Trans-Eurasia Information Network(TEIN), which is being used for international joint researches in cutting-edge areas,
including information telecommunications and future internets. Also the project desinted to help developing countries by capacity building
development programs. The early phases of theTEIN projects were managed by DANTE (www.dante.net), a not-for-profit organization based in the
United Kingdom. In 2012,DANTE (current GEANT) handed over this role to TEIN*CC, and we have been working for the
research and education community in Asia-Europe including TEIN network management. Now its current project is
Asi@Connect, the successor of TEIN-4 which started from Sep. 2016.

Who support us

Korean Government (MSIT), Seoul Metropolitan Government (SMG)

The Korean Government, the Ministry of Science and ICT(MSIT), supports TEIN*CC management and operations
The Seoul Metropolitan Government(SMG) provided the office properties and facilities, and supports its management costs.

Who are our partner

EU, 27 NRENs of 24 Asia-Pacific countries

The European Union contracted with TEIN*CC for Asi@Connect project.
27 National Research and Education Networks (NRENs) from 24 Asia-Paicfic countries/economies work with TEIN*CC for Asi@Connect project.
GEANT is our European partner by its direct connection with TEIN.
