Training programs to disseminate telemedicine across the beneficiary countries
Target Participants: Healthcare professionals, such as hospital/REN engineers, healthcare providers, medical students, doctors etc.from beneficiary countries.
Lead organisation Kyushu University Hospital, Japan
Objective:
- To provide dedicated technical training for local engineers in hospitals, in areas such as internet management and audio-visual handling. - To organize a “Train-the-trainer” program with engineers attending intensive programs at the Telemedicine Development Center of Asia (TEMDEC) at Kyushu University Hospital, Japan. - To organize an annual symposium/workshop where a team of medical and engineering staff get together to share information on various programs, explore medical needs, identify current problems, and improve technical conditions.
Approach: As a part of TEIN4, the telemedicine project motivated relevant initiatives in the beneficiary countries. However, full training and coverage of telemedicine in these countries cannot be achieved in such a short time. Extending this project further is therefore essential for the countries to consolidate their capabilitities.
Program: The whole project consists of two types of programs : a)Training of hospital engineers; b)Symposium/workshop
